V Darby Moore
About Me
My name is Virginia Darby Moore and I am an avian behavioral biologist and conservationist. I am an alumnus of Furman University and graduated in 2017 with a B.S. in Biology and Studio Art. Since then, I have traveled the Americas participating in research and conservation projects to benefit endangered avian species.

Currently, I am a PhD student in the Hobson Lab at the University of Cincinnati. Funded in part by the NSF GRFP, I plan to conduct research to determine the effects of early life experiences on adult social competence in monk parakeets. Over the course of my graduate career, I plan to work internationally to apply the findings of my research in captive parakeet models to species of conservation concern in the wild.

I pride myself on my ability to adapt and my experience living in remote field locations has given me a unique capacity for resilience and problem-solving.
